Reflecting
the growing influence of the "Purpose-Driven
Church" philosophy in the
Catholic Church, Rick Warren had an audience
with His Holiness, Pope John Paul II in 2004. After spending
the day "hanging out" with Warren at the
Vatican, the Pope immediately issued a papal bull to
add Aloha shirts to his liturgical vestments and
also build a Krispy Kreme kiosk inside the Sistine
Chapel. Said John Paul excitedly: "Rick thinks I
have a good chance of playing bass in the new Vatican
Praise Band." |
